We all love Paddington, the bear, don’t we? For almost 60 years, British-born writer Michael Bond has been delighting children and families all over the world with his stories about the bear from Darkest Peru famous for his love of marmalade. Paddington’s adventures were first captured on film in 2014 and what comes as great news is that a second Paddington movie, Paddington 2, is set to release by the end of this year. Here, Paddington finds himself happily settled with the Brown family in London and becomes a popular member of the local community.
Celebrating this movie’s release, luxury hotel group Belmond has arranged for a special rail journey aboard the very train that plays a starring role in the sequel. Run on steam, Belmond British Pullman happens to be one of Belmond’s eight luxury rail experiences.
Departing from London’s Victoria Station on December 2, 2017, and February 16, 2018, the train and its steam engine called Tornado would take you on a Paddington-inspired adventure. And oh yes, the tea menu on the train includes many sweet treats and Paddington’s favourite marmalade sandwiches. There will also be Paddington-inspired activities throughout the journey to keep you fully immersed in the world of Paddington. Priced at £550 onwards (two adults and two children under 16), the train takes you to iconic locations across UK.
Don’t miss the ride of your lifetime if you happen to be in London during that period. But then if you miss it, the train travels from London throughout the year, offering unique day journeys across the country.
